I`ve been there.
"My Internet Marketing Plan" is specifically created to help people like you and me to get a hold in what internet marketing is all about, first, and making money online, second. But why I placed `making money online` second, I hear you ask. Well, it is just a matter of putting priority right from a newbie perspective. Tell me, how do you gonna make money online if you do not know internet marketing in the first place? So I hope this will clarify any reservations concerning this opinion.
Just as much as making money online matters, basic internet marketing knowledge is the foundation on which you start your internet marketing `career`. I purposely clause this word because if you`re thinking of doing it as a part time sort of thing; it`s just not gonna work. Believe me, when I first started out my internet marketing career, I intended it to be just that as I had already hold a full time job as a Business Development Executive. As I got further into the realm of internet marketing, I soon realized that not only the challenges are greater than my dreary 9 to 5 job but the prospect are much, much, more bigger than you can imagine! So I did what I suppose is the right thing to do; I quit my job and began to fully concentrate on it (got myself in quite a hot spot because of this with my wife...hahaha...but she finally came to understand why I did what I did).
OK, let`s cut the crap about my life story and let`s get on with the internet marketing plan......

Starting Business Online Needs Full Committment
No
matter what you are thinking about
how to start your online business, it needs full committment. There`s
no two ways about it. You either do it or you don`t but once you have
decided to do it, be prepared for the long night hours, turning down a
weekend date with your boyfriend or girlfriend..or whatever, less time
at your favourite hang out and also be prepared for your ultmate
frustration because you will inevitably gonna face it. Just hang in
there and you`ll soon make it. So how do you go about in getting
started? "My Internet Marketing Plan" shall guide you in your journey
to building your internet marketing career.
Here are some pointers to get you building your business now:

1.Take a step, any step.One
of the things that makes starting so hard is that there's so much to
do. It's overwhelming. So just pick something-anything-and do it.
You'll feel good getting a task done and then be encouraged to take on
another one. Before you know it, you're on your way. I usually start
with something I like to do, and can get done in one sitting. For
example, since I'm a product person, I will write a quick description
of what the product offering will be. Then I'll add who will buy it and
why. I won't sweat it if it's not perfect (see the next point) because
I can change it later. Now I feel pretty darn good because I got
started.
2. Keep it simple and forget perfect.This is what I meant earlier about getting your priority right as a newbie. Ask yourself what is it exactly you want to do first. Well, I suggest you get down to equip yourself with some basic internet marketing knowledge. Figure out the right kind of information that you need to know just enough to get started and the rest will come naturally as you go along once you already get going. Don`t get distracted with matters that are not relevant and important with what you are doing now. It maybe relevant and important later on. Just take note of them and save them somewhere in some folders marked `Saved For Desserts`. The thing is that, during the initial stage of your internet marketing career, you should keep things as SIMPLE as it can possibly get. This is to ensure that you don`t catch the` information overload` syndrome, like I did. It took me quite a while to realize that I was getting nowhere because of it.
3.Don't reinvent the wheel. As an internet marketing newbie, there is no need to build something from scratch that you can rent, lease, or (better yet) use for no or low cost. For example, when you are building your website, consider using Wordpress or Blogger rather than having a custom-coded website built. The "off the shelf" tools are much cheaper, faster, and easier to use while you're learning what is needed for your business. If ever you run into a problem and the solution doesn`t seem to be anywhere in sight, `reformat` the problem from a different angle and hit your search browser for the main keyword of that particular problem. Usually, this would work. If not, I`d take a walk in the park and feed the pigeons...hahaha.
4.Tell the world you're starting. Some founders assume they shouldn't tell anyone what they're doing because someone could steal their idea. But in my experience, the benefits far outweigh the risks. First, nothing makes a business "real" faster for me than telling the people in my life that I'm starting it. Second, a curious thing happens when you tell people about your business. They ask questions and offer ideas. They make introductions and identify the competition. And, by knowing, they can support you (emotionally and otherwise) as you're doing this incredibly rewarding but hard thing. Two popular ways are, of course, to share what you are doing on Facebook and Twitter. Other social medias, especially those that internet marketers like to hang out such as LinkedIn, WarriorForum, Digg, Squidoo are few examples that you might consider joining in.

Get Your Own Domain Name And Hosting
Assuming you have
already some basic internet marketing knowledge (please go to my
"Resources and Tutorials" page if you need any reference), the first
thing in the agenda of your internet marketing plan is to get yourself a
domain
name. Now,
I don`t know how else to emphasize this but having your own domain is
inevitable. It`s like you have to have your own store or some kind of a
business premise physically (i.e offline) if you want to carry out any
sort of business activities. You may want to name it `www.mystore.com`
or `www.babystuff.ws` or whatever. In my case, my domain name is
`www.bizzpartneronline.ws`.....pretty cool huh? Well, I don`t know but
when I first thought about it, I wanted it to carry the message that
you need partners to succeed online; help your partner succeed and
you`ll succeed too.
To get a domain name, you will have to pay an annual fee about $10 to a domain registration company for the right to use that name.. This does not get you a website, just the name. Once you done that, you need to have a hosting company to host your domain name. Now, I`m not going into all the technicalities on how you go about doing this here, you need to go to my "Resources and Tutorials" page. Getting your domain hosted literally means putting it up on the internet where it can be seen by others and this is actually the exciting part of the whole thing. I can still remember when the first time my domain was hosted, a kiddy`s page kind of thing, I was so excited that I keep visiting my site every minute. And you know, that page sat there for months without any rework simply because I don`t know anything about making a website!
The point I want to make here is that it is absolutely essential to have your own domain if you want to start an online business even if you are an `affiliate marketer` with a free affiliate website - successful affiliate marketers create their own `squeeze page` or `landing page` site to get the attention of visitors to their main affiliate website. This is because with a squeeze page or landing page it is more flexible and easier to manage. And most important, you have control over your site.

gotten over the preliminary `complexities` and get the hang of using an
html editor, you`d be surprised at how easy it is to build a website.
There are plenty of free instructional videos and online tutorials out
there on how to build a website. Again, go

The idea here is to get your first website published ASAP. Make it simple and strightforward; no fancy stuffs or html gimmicks. You can do that later on when you are done with all the important issues that have to be taken to task regarding your new website. Just for your info these include SEO, directory listing, web submissions, linking etc..etc. Again, don`t freak out over all these big words but if you think that this is making things rather complicated for you to follow, you can skip this and go back to the basic. You can do this when you are ready and more prepared. At the moment, you can work on your website in areas where you think you can handle such as improving the visual aspect of your website; does it appeal to visitors?, does it makes people take notice and prompt another look? and how about the layout, is it organized? You need to remember one important thing in building a website: your opinion do not count! In internet marketing it is what others think that matters. So it is best to get your friends` opinion on your website before you finally publish it on the web.
Seem rather helpless, don`t you? I know I was too when I first started with my website, but PERSEVERANCE had kept me going. I was fortunate cos I have friends on the internet that I can `skype` to discuss problems and share ideas with. You should do this too you know even with me if you like. It`s good because it takes the stress out of your work logjam. Believe me, nothing is more frustrating than a work logjam which you will undoubtedly going to face at some point in this internet marketing career. What I`d do if this happens is to break myself away from the train of thought that create the logjam; I`d put everything down and get away from my workplace for a while (should be at least a day) and go somewhere and do something different that would make me forget about internet marketing. Then, come back to your workplace and pick up where you left off. This always works for me!
